The Winston-Salem Police Department said Monday that a 20-year-old woman was killed in a domestic violence incident on Sunday. A department spokesperson said a suspect has not been named or charged as police are still investigating. According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, officers responded to the 2200 block of Lula Street near Flag Street around 7:10 p.m. Sunday. to reports of gunshots. The incident area is not far from Salem Parkway and Fifth Street. While responding, officers received an additional call indicating an unresponsive woman next to a vehicle in an alley on Flag Street. Bria Robinson, 20, was found with gunshot wounds. Forsyth County Emergency Medical Services pronounced Robinson dead at the scene. “We are devastated,” said Frank Robinson, senior pastor of Messiah Community Christian Church. “As a community, as a member, we are devastated. Not just the fact that it was in our community, but the fact that it continues to happen.” Frank Robinson (who is not related to or directly knew the victim) said those who knew Bria and those who live nearby are invited to join the church this Sunday for services. “We are here whatever the situation,” he said. marks the 12th homicide for 2022, compared to seven homicides for the same period in 2021.” The Winston-Salem Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in this case.
