As disturbing events continue to unfold in Afghanistan, scenes of violence and despair spark calls for generosity.

For those who are keen to step in to help refugees who arrive to settle in North Texas and across the United States, here are a few ways to help.

SUPPORT LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS AND ASBL

Visit the Catholic Charities Dallas website for more information on how to donate. Potential donors can also contact the organization directly to specify that a donation is intended for refugee families or to note it on the donation form.

Donate to the International Rescue Committee, or IRC, which has a Dallas fund. The organization helps find housing, buy household items and food, transport, medical needs and other basic needs of new Afghan neighbors and other newcomers.
