The TikTok Orbeez Challenge is now taking place in Point Pleasant, NJ

I warned you about this disturbing TikTok challenge last week by letting you know that it has spread to Jersey. Now it’s really getting closer to home since there was only one success at Point Pleasant.

The police want everyone to be aware of this trend, so if you see it happening, you can report it as soon as possible. Also, if you are a parent, talk to your children about the danger and the cost it can be. It’s no joke if they get caught accepting the challenge, the police will prosecute.

In case you aren’t familiar with the Orbeez Challenge, here’s what it is.

TikTok fans are challenged to fire frozen Orbeez (jelly-like balls) at people with airsoft guns or splat ball for drive-by shooting.

Generally the pellets soak in water and expand, if fired in this state they would burst on contact, however the tendency is to freeze them making them dangerous causing bruises, marks and even skin breaks.

When fired at property like a car windshield, it could shatter glass.

This is a fair warning that if you accept the challenge, you are accepting serious criminal activity and you will be treated accordingly by law enforcement.

We have heard of reported issues in Mercer County in Hamilton and also in Westfield, New Jersey. Now the latest report comes from Point Pleasant. Keep an eye out for kids doing this prank and call the police if you see suspicious activity.
