Tenille Arts has been crushing it in Canada for years. Over the past two years, she has also made a name for herself here in the United States. I had the chance to chat with her about her success and some of the coolest things she’s done this year.

We talked about everything from the success of his single “Somebody Like That” to some of his favorite artists of the moment. The interview looked like this:

On the success of “Someone Like That”

It was definitely a historic song… not just for you but for women. Of course, it’s a # 1, but also:

the first song # 1 to be performed, written and produced by all women

the first song # 1 produced by a female solo

and the 1st Song # 1 here in the US for a Canadian artist since 2007 and for a Canadian female artist… as a Canadian… and a woman… what does this mean to you?

Who do we need to pay attention to?

There have been so many women who have made their names in country music these days… do you have one that you think is the one we should keep an eye out for?

On the road with Lady A …

You were on the road with Lady A during their “What a Song Can Do” tour (with Niko Moon and Carley Pearce)… I saw one of the nights when you were all on stage singing “Shape of you” the song by Ed Sheeran… I always wonder what it looks like as a supporting artist. How much of it is actually trying to learn from the headliner… and how much is it just soaking up everything…

What did you learn from them?

Do you think you have something that you learned from Lady A that you will take with you?

In his debut at the Grand Ole Opry

In 2019 you had the chance to step into the famous circle and make your Grand Ole Opry debut. Were you more excited? Or more nervous?

This time she sang at the Grand Ole Opry as a visitor …

When Tennile was young she would visit the Opry and they asked if anyone wanted to stand up and sing in the circle …
