Ogun police arrest pastor for ‘luring church member and two girls to his house for sex’

Ogun Police Command said it arrested Timothy Oluwatimilehin, the pastor in charge of Abeokuta’s Spirit Filled International Christian Church, for “luring church members to his home for sexual purposes”.

Police say the pastor lured the victims — a mother and two daughters — to his home.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, Ogun police spokesperson, in a statement on Thursday said the pastor was arrested following a complaint by the church member’s husband.

Oyeyemi said the pastor confessed to taking advantage of the “little misunderstanding” between the woman and her husband to commit the crime.

“A pastor in charge of the Spirit Filled International Christian Church, Olumore Abeokuta, Pastor Timothy Oluwatimilehin, was arrested by men from the Ogun State Police Command for luring a housewife and her two daughters away of her husband’s house, kept them in his house and having a carnal relationship with them all,” the statement read.

“The pastor was arrested following a complaint lodged at the Adatan police station by the victim’s husband, who was accompanied by an official from the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, and reported that his wife and two daughters had been lured by their church pastor who took them into his custody and has since had sex with the mother and her two daughters.

“During questioning, the pastor confessed to committing the crime but pleaded for forgiveness.

“In his confession, he explained that he took advantage of the little misunderstanding between the wife and her husband to commit the diabolical act.”

Oyeyemi added that Lanre Bankole, Ogun Police Commissioner, “has directed the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labor Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department to take handle the case”.

He also said the suspect would be brought to justice as soon as the investigation is complete.
