Cross country

The university welcomes an invitation at home, in Greeley: Resurrection Christian won the boys ‘team title (35 points) and the girls’ team title (26) at the University Invitational. Valley (44) was second for the boys, while Eaton was third (63) and Greeley Central fourth (74). Eaton junior Logan Gullett won the men’s individual title (10: 34.70), and Resurrection Christian freshman Jackson Fagerlin (10: 53.60). Eaton placed second (42) in the women’s team standings and Platte Valley third (66). Reds sophomore Andie Rasmussen won the girls’ race in 12: 42.30. Second year of Resurrection Christian Ella Howe was second (12: 53.80).

Boys football

Northridge 2, Riverdale Ridge 0, in Thornton: Northridge continued to roll, winning their fourth straight game and improving to 8-2-3 overall, 5-1-1 Class 4A / 3A Longs Peak League. The Grizzlies scored their two goals in the first half.

Frontier Academy 3, Estes Park 1, at Estes Park: Frontier Academy took a slight advantage early in the game, advancing 1-0 in the first half, before putting the game aside with two goals in the second half. The Wolverines improved to 9-3 on aggregate, 5-1 in 3A Patriot League.

Fort Lupton 8, Arvada 0, to Fort Lupton: Fort Lupton continues to dominate its league schedule, improving to 10-2 overall, 5-0 in 5A / 4A / 3A Colorado League. The Bluedevils took a 7-0 lead in the first half.

Cut 4, Mountain View 1, at Loveland: Severance broke a 1-1 halftime tie with three unanswered goals in the second half. Senior Isaiah Ferguson, senior Jordan Thompson, senior Tyler DiPietro and junior Jahaziel Gonzales each had a goal for the Silver Knights. DiPietro and Gonzales got an assist each. Separation improved to 2-9 overall, 1-6 in play 4A / 3A Longs Peak.

Aurora Central 10, Weld Central 0, in Aurora: Aurora Central scored seven goals in the second half to take a 3-0 halftime lead. Weld Central senior goalkeeper Santiago Echeverria made 26 saves. The Rebels are down to 0-12-1 on aggregate, 0-5 in 5A / 4A / 3A Colorado League.

Girls volleyball

Cut 3, Northridge 2, in Cut: The split came from behind to claim a league victory, 22-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-16, 15-12. Junior Lindsay Garcia had seven kills for the Silver Knights. Senior Morgan Green added six kills and three blocks. The split improved to 6-11 overall, 4-6 in play 4A / 3A Longs Peak. Northridge fell to 5-11, 0-10.

Eaton 3, Frontier Academy 0, in Greeley: Eaton earned his fourth straight sweep victory to move to 11-5 overall, 5-2 in the 3A Patriot League game. Frontier fell to 3-13, 0-7.

Weld Central 3, Fort Lupton 0, at Fort Lupton: Weld Central controlled this Colorado League 4A / 3A game from start to finish, winning 25-13, 25-20, 25-19. The Rebels improved to 8-9 overall, 3-0 in the league. Fort Lupton fell to 6-9, 1-1.

R̩surrection Christian 3, Strasbourg 0, in Strasbourg: With a quick win Р25-14, 25-13, 25-12 РResurrection Christian went undefeated, improving to 14-0 overall, 8-0 in 3A Patriot League. The Cougars remain the top ranked team in 3A, according to CHSAANow.com.

Greeley Central 3, Centaurus 2, in Lafayette: Greeley Central survived a nail bite to claim his first conference victory, 25-22, 24-26, 21-25, 26-24, 15-13. Wildcats elder Tomea Cruz had 13 kills, 15 assists, 17 digs and six aces. Freshman Evyn Mascarenas anchored Central’s back row, racking up 20 digs. The Wildcats improved to 3-16 overall, 1-9 in Game 5A / 4A of the Northern Colorado Athletic Conference.

Platte Valley 3, Liberty Common 0, in Fort Collins: Platte Valley claimed a quality victory over Liberty Common, sixth, 25-18, 25-16, 25-16. The Broncos are ranked 10th in the latest CHSAANow.com 3A rankings. Freshman Karsyn Fetzer had 11 kills, 18 digs, two blocks and two aces for the Broncos. Senior Brooke Bunting had eight kills, 14 digs, one block and two aces. Platte Valley improved to 10-8 overall, 4-3 in 3A Patriot League.

Dayspring Christian Academy 3, Lyon 0, in Greeley: Dayspring earned their fifth straight sweep and ninth straight win overall, 25-15, 25-4, 25-14. Senior Karrin Chandler had 11 kills, 14 assists and two blocks for the Eagles. Her senior colleague Alexa Shenkenberg had three aces. Senior Tabor Flanagan added four blocks and 20 digs.

Union Colony 3, Twin Peaks Charter Academy 0, in Greeley: Union Colony won their seventh consecutive game, 25-7, 25-6, 25-11. The Timberwolves improved to 11-6 overall, 7-2 in 3A / 2A / 1A Mile High League.

Valley 3, Brosse 0, in Gilcrest: Valley rebounded from a loss to top-ranked Resurrection Christian five days earlier with the dominating win of 25-14, 25-4, 25-11. The Vikings improved to 12-4 overall, 4-3 in 3A Patriot League.

Berthoud 3, Roosevelt 1, in Berthoud: Roosevelt won the first set but couldn’t win another, losing 16-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-21. The Rough Riders are down to 9-8 on aggregate, 5-6 in 4A / 3A Longs Peak League.

Heritage Christian 3, Highland 1, in Fort Collins: Highland won the first set, 25-17, but couldn’t keep the momentum going, losing the last three sets, 25-16, 25-19, 25-22. The Huskies are down to 8-8 on aggregate, 6-4 in 3A / 2A / 1A Mile High League.

Merino 3, Prairie 0, in New Raymer: Prairie fell to the fourth-ranked team in 1A, according to CHSAANow.com, 25-14, 25-8, 25-19. The Mustangs fell to 7-11 with the non-championship loss.

Longmont 3, Greeley West 1, in Greeley: Greeley West briefly tied the game but ended up losing 25-4, 25-27, 27-25, 25-22. The Spartans fell to 5-12 on aggregate, 2-7 in Game 5A / 4A of the Northern Colorado Athletic Conference.
