Ian Jacob Joseph Sousis, 9 – The Lawyer-Messenger

Ian Jacob Joseph Sousis, 9, of Waynesburg, KY, died Saturday, June 4, 2022. Born September 26, 2012 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Ian was a bright kid who was sweet, empathetic and loved talking to people. He loved being a Lego builder, drawing, video games, the color red, mac-n-cheese and spiderman. If anyone asked, he always told them he wanted to be Spiderman when he grew up. He had attended Highland Elementary and Stanford Elementary in Lincoln County.
Survivors include her mema and pop pop, Rhonda and Waynesburg’s James O’Brien; mother, Krystal Sousis of Waynesburg; three siblings, Anthony Sousis of Waynesburg, Olivia Sousis of Waynesburg and Ethan Vitek of New York; mamaw, Peggy Flanery of Waynesburg; two uncles, Trevor Redding (Elissa) of Denver, CO and Casey Johns (Anna) of Ft. Collins, CO; two great-uncles, Vick Flanery (Robin) of Indiana and Tom Flanery (Sandy) of Waynesburg; and several great-great-aunts and cousins.
He was predeceased by his great-grandfather, Delmar Howard Flanery.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, June 10 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spurlin’s Funeral Home in Stanford, Ky. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Spurlin’s Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Starbuck officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Moriah Christian Church in Highland, KY.
