If you drive along Rt. 9 in Forked River you see a lot of construction.

Popeyes Chicken is almost ready to open at ShopRite Plaza. The Home Depot and Kohl’s Plaza along Rt. 9, Chipotle is under construction and another building is right next door, unless it’s the same building. Looks like two. Didn’t hear if another restaurant is going there or a store. Maybe you know?

The old Dunkin field next to Taco Bell is completely emptied, hoping for something new there. Forked River grows and grows. I notice the land is for sale, it would be nice to have a good family restaurant sitting there. A little further away was Charlie Brown, who closed due to the pandemic, along with the other Charlie Browns in Ocean County.

There is new construction going on where the miniature golf course once stood. Remember it was so cute. I believe it has been closed for years now. The land is right next to the Nikko Asian Bistro & Sushi.

There is nothing under construction on this land yet, but they are cleaning up everything. Does anyone know what’s going on there? I checked the Lacey Township Chatter Facebook page and couldn’t find any information. I can’t wait to see what happens in this country. What do you think it will be?
