LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated 35,000 pounds of meat to the South Plains Food Bank on Tuesday morning.

“We are truly grateful for their efforts to donate, volunteer and advocate for those in need in our communities,” said Dina Jeffries, CEO of South Plains Food Bank, in a press release.

Sources of protein are often difficult to find for food insecure families and communities. So the Church said they hoped the donation would go a long way to feeding those in need.
