Bottled water distribution dates, locations for October 30

BENTON HARBOR, Mich .– The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Friday announced additional dates for residents of Benton Harbor to pick up bottled water as efforts to get water to residents confined to home and those without transportation continue.

Weekly water deliveries are currently being provided to 474 homes, according to a press release.

It comes as residents are asked to use bottled water for cooking, drinking, brushing teeth, rinsing food, and mixing powdered infant formula.

Almost 107,000 cases of free bottled water were distributed at distribution sites and during deliveries.

The upcoming schedule for the collection of water bottles is as follows:

Saturday October 30

  • Benton Harbor Boys and Girls Club, 600 Nate Wells Sr. Drive, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Harbor of Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church, 769 Pipestone Street, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday October 31

  • Abundant Life Church of God, 693 Columbus Avenue, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Brotherhood of All Nations, 1286 rue Monroe, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Monday November 1

  • Sud-Ouest Community Action Agency, 331 Miller Street, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (self-service)
  • Abundant Life Church of God, 693 Columbus Avenue, noon to 2 p.m.

Tuesday, November 2

  • Sud-Ouest Community Action Agency, 331 Miller Street, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (self-service)
  • Abundant Life Church of God, 693 Columbus Avenue, noon to 2 p.m.
  • Ebenezer Baptist Church, 214 E. Britain Avenue, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Wednesday November 3

  • Southwest Community Action Agency, 331 Miller Street, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. (water charged into vehicles by volunteers)

The MDHHS says more dates and locations for bottled water collection will continue to be added.
